The best travel stroller for your family will ultimately depend on your child’s age and how you’re getting to your destination: If you fly, you want a travel stroller that folds up small enough to fit into a trunk alongside your suitcases and other gear; if you mostly road trip, you might want a travel system or infant car seat caddy that’s compatible with your child’s car seat.

As part of CR’s comprehensive stroller ratings process, we’ve tested hundreds of strollers from almost 30 brands in our testing lab, including travel strollers from Chicco, Doona, Graco, Mountain Buggy, and Uppababy. We put each travel stroller through a series of tests, simulating different child weights and various terrains, and each stroller was tested for around 10 hours each. Finally, every travel stroller we tested was assigned an Overall Score from 1 to 100 and ranked in relation to how they performed within the group on a scale of 1 to 10. Strollers receiving at least a score of 70 were considered for this list of the best travel strollers.
